Let's go!

The first official Video of "Nights In White Satin" from the year 1967!

Moody Blues Nights In White Satin

Nights in white satin, never reaching the end,

Letters I've written, never meaning to send.

Beauty I'd always missed with these eyes before.

Just what the truth is, I can't say anymore.

'Cos I love you, yes I love you, oh how I love you.

Gazing at people, some hand in hand,

Just what I'm going through they can't understand.

Some try to tell me, thoughts they cannot defend,

Just what you want to be, you will be in the end.

And I love you, yes I love you,

Oh how I love you, oh how I love you.

Nights in white satin, never reaching the end,

Letters I've written, never meaning to send.

Beauty I've always missed, with these eyes before.

Just what the truth is, I can't say anymore.

'Cos I love you, yes I love you,

Oh how I love you, oh how I love you.

'Cos I love you, yes I love you,

Oh how I love you, oh how I love you.

Breath deep

The gathering gloom

Watch lights fade

From every room

Bedsitter people

Look back and lament

Another day's useless

Energy spent

Impassioned lovers

Wrestle as one

Lonely man cries for love

And has none

New mother picks up

And suckles her son

Senior citizens

Wish they were young

Cold hearted orb

That rules the night

Removes the colours

From our sight

Red is gray and

Yellow white

But we decide

Which is right

And

Which is an Illusion

The Hollies At Abbey Road 1966-1970

http://youtu.be/C1KtScrqtbc

The road is long

With many a winding turn

That leads us to who knows where

Who knows when

But I'm strong

Strong enough to carry him

He ain't heavy, he's my brother

So on we go

His welfare is of my concern

No burden is he to bear

We'll get there

For I know

He would not encumber me

He ain't heavy, he's my brother

If I'm laden at all

I'm laden with sadness

That everyone's heart

Isn't filled with the gladness

Of love for one another

It's a long, long road

From which there is no return

While we're on the way to there

Why not share

And the load

Doesn't weigh me down at all

He ain't heavy, he's my brother

He's my brother

He ain't heavy, he's my brother...

The Hollies - The Air That I Breathe [1974]original LP version

http://youtu.be/Bb7S8-Iewi0

The Air That I Breathe

Songwriters: Hammond, Albert; Hazelwood, Michael;

If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass

Can't think of anything I need

No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound

Nothing to eat, no books to read

Making love with you

Has left me peaceful, warm and tired

What more could I ask

There's nothing left, to be desired

Peace came upon me

And it leaves me weak

So sleep, silent angel

Go to sleep

Sometimes

All I need is the air

That I breathe

And to love you

All I need is the air

That I breathe

Just to love you

All I need is the air

That I breathe

Peace came upon me

And it leaves me weak

So sleep silent angel

Go to sleep

Sometimes

All I need is the air

That I breathe

And to love you

All I need is the air

That I breathe

Just to love you

All I need is the air

That I breathe

Sometimes

All I need is the air

That I breathe

And to love you

All I need is the air

That I breathe

Just, to love you

All I need is the air

That I breathe

Parni_Valjak, щом The Moody Blues са тук, мисля, че и Джери Рафърти трябва да се намира наоколо? :) И се надявам, да нямаш нищо против да добавя тази песен /установих, че все още си я харесвам по същия начин/:

Gerry Rafferty

Baker Street

Windin' your way down on Baker Street

Light in your head and dead on your feet

Well another crazy day

You'll drink the night away

And forget about everything

This city desert makes you feel so cold.

It's got so many people but it's got no soul

And it's taking you so long

To find out you were wrong

When you thought it had everything

You used to think that it was so easy

You used to say that it was so easy

But you're tryin'

You're tryin' now

Another year and then you'll be happy

Just one more year and then you'll be happy

But you're cryin'

You're cryin' now

Way down the street there's a lad in his place

He opens the door he's got that look on his face

And he asks you where you've been

You tell him who you've seen

And you talk about anything

He's got this dream about buyin' some land

He's gonna give up the booze and the one night stands

And then he'll settle down there's a quiet little town

And forget about everything

But you know he'll always keep movin'

You know he's never gonna stop movin

Cus he's rollin'

He's the rollin' stone

And when you wake up it's a new mornin'

The sun is shinin' it's a new morning

You're goin'

You're goin' home.

Следващите изпълнители съм сигурен, че ще ги знаят много малко хора. Но те имат серия топ места в класациите в края на 60-те години.

Нарочно пускам две изпълнения - да се види какво прави времето с външния им вид, но вътре са си същите ...

Peter & Gordon - World Without Love(1965)

http://youtu.be/aVbLNPwi_r0

Peter and Gordon were the featured music performers for Pollstar's 19th Annual Concert Industry Awards, Feb 7, 2008, from the Nokia Theater L.A. Live, Los Angeles.

http://youtu.be/lt5gN4ubw8E

Paul McCartney wrote this, and gave it to Peter & Gordon. this was the era The Beatles were writing so many songs they had extras they didnt need for their own albums so they gave them to friends. Peter Asher is Jane Asher's brother, and Jane Asher was Paul's girlfriend in the early Beatles days- so it makes sense that Paul gave Peter this song

World Without Love

Please lock me away

And don't allow the day

Here inside, where I hide with my loneliness

I don't care what they say, I won't stay

In a world without love

Birds sing out of tune

And rain clouds hide the moon

I'm OK, here I stay with my loneliness

I don't care what they say, I won't stay

In a world without love

So I wait, and in a while

I will see my true love smile

She may come, I know not when

When she does, I'll lose

So baby until then

Lock me away

And don't allow the day

Here inside, where I hide with my loneliness

I don't care what they say, I won't stay

In a world without love

(Please lock me away)

(And don't allow the day)

(Here inside, where I hide with my loneliness)

I don't care what they say, I won't stay

In a world without love

So I wait, and in a while

I will see my true love smile

She may come, I know not when

When she does, I'll lose

So baby until then

Lock me away

And don't allow the day

Here inside, where I hide with my loneliness

I don't care what they say, I won't stay

In a world without love

I don't care what they say, I won't stay

In a world without love

Bee Gees

Massachusetts, Sep 1967

http://youtu.be/AbkbGF27JyY

Feel I'm goin' back to Massachusetts.

Something's telling me I must go home.

And the lights all went out in Massachusetts

The day I left her standing on her own.

Tried to hitch a ride to San Francisco.

Gotta do the things I wanna do.

And the lights all went out in Massachusetts

They brought me back to see my way with you.

Talk about the life in Massachusetts.

Speak about the people I have seen.

And the lights all went out in Massachusetts,

And Massachusetts is one place I have seen

The Spicks and Specks

(1966 clip!)

Where is the sun

That shone on my head

The sun in my life

It is dead

it is dead

Where is the light

That would play

In my streets

And where are the friends

I could meet

I could meet

Where are the girls

I left all behind

The spicks and the specks

Of the girls on my mind

Where is the sun

That shone on my head

The sun in my life

It is dead

it is dead

Where are the girls

I left all behind

The spicks and the specks

Of the girls on my mind

Where is the girl I loved

all along

The girl that I loved

she's gone

she's gone

All of my life

I call yesterday

The spicks and the specks

of my life 've gone away

All of my life

I call yesterday

The spicks and the specks

of my life 've gone away

Spicks and Specks!

Words

1997 concert in the MGM Grand in Las Vegas

http://youtu.be/JHLMGBwAbhA

Smile an everlasting smile

A smile could bring you near to me

Don't ever let me find you gone

'Cause that would bring a tear to me

This world has lost it's glory

Let's start a brand new story

Now my love right now there'll be

No other time and I can show you

How my love

Talk in everlasting words

And dedicate them all to me

And I will give you all my life

I'm here if you should call to me

You think that I don't even mean

A single word I say

It's only words, and words are all

I have to take your heart away

You think that I don't even mean

A single word I say

It's only words, and words are all

I have to take your heart away

It's only words, and words are all

I have to take your heart away

Free

It's alright now

This is a very rare clip released Circa 1969 of Free performing All Right Now (live).

Released in Australia in B&W. My favourite clip by this band and highlights Paul Kossoff's signature vibrato. Best lead ever done by Kossoff!

http://youtu.be/htuxb-m4-ng

There she stood in the street, smiling from her head to her feet

I said, "A-hey, what is this?"

Now baby maybe, maybe she's in need of a kiss

I said, "A-hey, what's your name, baby?

Maybe we can see things the same

Now don't you wait or hesitate

Let's move before they raise the parking rate"

All right now baby, it's all right now

All right now baby, it's all right now

Let me tell you now

I took her home to my place, watching every move on her face

She said, "Look, what's your game, baby?

Are you tryin' to put me in shame?"

I said, "Slow, don't go so fast

Don't you think that love can last?"

She said, "Love, lord above, now you're gonna trick me in love"

All right now baby, it's all right now

All right now baby, it's all right now

Yeah, it's alright now

[

Let me tell you all about it now

Took her home to my place, watching every move on her face

She said, "Look, what's your game?

Are you tryin' to put me in shame?"

"Baby", I said, "Slow, slow, don't go so fast

Don't you think that love can last?"

She said, "Love, lord above, now you're gonna trick me in love"

All right now baby, it's all right now

All right now baby, it's all right now

All right now baby, it's all right now (Baby)

All right now baby, it's all right now (Baby, baby, baby, it's all right)

All right now baby (All right now), it's all right now (It's all right, it's all right, it's all right)

All right now baby, it's all right now

All right now baby (We're so happy together), it's all right now (It's all right, it's all right, it's all right, everything is all right)

All right now baby, it's all right now

Bill Withers

in 1971, playing "Ain't No Sunshine"

http://youtu.be/tIdIqbv7SPo

Ain't no sunshine when she's gone

It's not warm when she's away.

Ain't no sunshine when she's gone

She's always gone too long

Anytime she goes away.

Wonder this time where she's gone

Wonder if she's gone to stay

Ain't no sunshine when she's gone

And this house just ain't no home

Anytime she goes away.

And I know, I know, I know, I know,

I know, I know, I know, I know, I know,

I know, I know, I know, I know, I know,

I know, I know, I know, I know, I know,

I know, I know, I know, I know, I know,

I know, I know,

Hey, I oughtta leave young thing alone

But ain't no sunshine when she's gone

Ain't no sunshine when she's gone

Only darkness every day

Ain't no sunshine when she's gone

And this house just ain't no home

Anytime she goes away

I know, I know, I know, I know,

I know, I know, I know, I know, I know,

I know, I know, I know, I know, I know,

I know, I know, I know, I know, I know,

I know, I know, I know, I know,

Hey, I oughtta leave young thing alone

But ain't no sunshine when she's gone

Ain't no sunshine when she's gone

Only darkness every day

Ain't no sunshine when she's gone

And this house just ain't no home

Anytime she goes away

Anytime she goes away

Anytime she goes away

Anytime she goes away

[spoken:]

"Thank you. Appreciate that. Yeah"

Procol Harum

The immortal A Whiter Shade Of Pale

British rock legends Procol Harum are captured here at their finest, in concert at London's Union Chapel. It was the last night of a tour that had taken them from London through Europe, Japan and North America and back again to London and the band celebrated with a truly magical performance of the rarely heard full version of the immortal A Whiter Shade Of Pale.

http://youtu.be/p8jJ1ORIOes

Original Single Version

(Brooker / Reid)

We skipped the light fandango

turned cartwheels 'cross the floor

I was feeling kinda seasick

but the crowd called out for more

The room was humming harder

as the ceiling flew away

When we called out for another drink

the waiter brought a tray

And so it was that later

as the miller told his tale

that her face, at first just ghostly,

turned a whiter shade of pale

She said, 'There is no reason

and the truth is plain to see.'

But I wandered through my playing cards

and would not let her be

one of sixteen vestal virgins

who were leaving for the coast

and although my eyes were open

they might have just as well've been closed

She said, 'I'm home on shore leave,'

though in truth we were at sea

so I took her by the looking glass

and forced her to agree

saying, 'You must be the mermaid

who took Neptune for a ride.'

But she smiled at me so sadly

that my anger straightway died

If music be the food of love

then laughter is its queen

and likewise if behind is in front

then dirt in truth is clean

My mouth by then like cardboard

seemed to slip straight through my head

So we crash-dived straightway quickly

and attacked the ocean bed

Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel:

Sebastian

"The Come Back, All Is Forgiven Tour" (1989).

Recorded in Brighton and Northampton, UK.

Steve Harley - vocals and guitar

http://youtu.be/gv4Kc0mSBsc

Radiate simply, the candle is burning

slow for me

Generate me limply, I can't seem to place

your name, cherie

To rearrange all these thoughts in a moment

is suicide

Come to a strange place, we'll talk over old times

we never spied

Somebody called me Sebastian

Somebody called me Sebastian

Work out a rhyme, toss me the time, lay me --

you're mine

And we all know, oh yeah!

Your Persian eyes sparkle, your lips -- ruby blue --

never speak a sound

You, oh so gay, with Parisian demands,

you can run around

And your view of society screws up my mind

like you'll never know

Lead me away, come inside,

see my mind in kaleidoscope

Somebody called me Sebastian

Somebody called me Sebastian

Love me sublime, mangle my mind -

do it in style

so we all know , oh yeah!

You`re not gonna run, baby we`ve only just begun, baby

to compromise

Slagged in a bowery saloon love`s a story

we`ll serialise

Pale angel face,green-eye shadow, the glitter

is outaside

No courtesan could begin to decipher

your beam of light

Somebody called me Sebastian

Somebody called me Sebastian

Dance on my heart, laugh swoop and dart,

la-di-di-da

Now we all know you , yeah !

The Tremeloes - Silence Is Golden

"Silence is Golden" is a song co-written by Bob Gaudio of the American rock band, The Four Seasons, with Bob Crewe. It was released as a B-side to the hit song "Rag Doll," in 1964.

It was later covered by the English band The Tremeloes, whose recording was a #1 hit in the UK Singles Chart on 18 May 1967, staying at the top for a total of three weeks. Guitarist Rick West sang lead vocal on "Silence Is Golden." All the group's members shared vocals, though most of the songs featured either 'Chip' Hawkes or drummer Dave Munden as the lead singer.

Another example of how very fortunate the sixties era people really were. They had it all as far as music goes. The shit recorded these days is all garbage as far as I am concerned, maybe I was born in the wrong decade or something...I dont know.

(I fully agree with this opinion !)

http://youtu.be/pyj2qL-bQ4E

Silence Is Golden:

If you get a right wheel

Left hammer raw deal

Ev'rything is upside down.

Tie him in a knot

try

Ev'rything you've got now

Kick him in the dusty ground:

Give it a try

Let it go by by by by by

Give it a try

Let it go by by by by by.

Marriage on the rocks

d'pends

Who said what then

Nobody remember why;

Go before a counsel

Wouldn't let her down feel

Shakin' in your old school tie:

Give it a try...

Horses on the run win

Thirty three to one and

Never put a penny on;

Smiling on the bookie

Tell him that he should be

Better luck the next time son:

Give it a try...

The Shadows

"Apache" (Original Stereo)

"Apache" was composed by guitarist Jerry Lordan who was inspired to write it by the 1954 film of the same name. The British instrumental group The Shadows were touring with Jerry when he played it for them, and ultimately they recorded this version which was a big hit in the U.K, during the summer months of 1960. A few months after the release of this recording, Jorgen Ingmann covered the song and took it to #2 in the U.S. in February of 1961.

Today this song is considered one of the greatest guitar tracks ever recorded

Hank Marvin , the first British owner of a Fender Stratocaster guitar
