All the leaves are brown

All the leaves are brown

And the sky is grey

And the sky is grey

I've been for a walk

I've been for a walk

On a winter's day

On a winter's day

I'd be safe and warm

I'd be safe and warm

If I was in L.A.

If I was in L.A.

California dreamin

California dreamin

On such a winter's day

Stopped into a church

I passed along the way

Well, I got down on my knees

Got down on my knees

And I pretend to pray

I pretend to pray

The preacher locked the door

Preacher locked the door

He knows I'm gonna stay

Knows I'm gonna stay

California dreamin

California dreamin

On such a winter's day

All the leaves are brown

All the leaves are brown

And the sky is grey

And the sky is grey

I've been for a walk

I've been for a walk

On a winter's day

On a winter's day

If I didn't tell her

If I didn't tell her

I could leave today

I could leave today

LADY D'ARBANVILLE

http://youtu.be/vjfI3uSN8DQ

My Lady d'Arbanville, why do you sleep so still?

I'll wake you tomorrow

and you will be my fill, yes, you will be my fill.

My Lady d'Arbanville why does it grieve me so?

But your heart seems so silent.

Why do you breathe so low, why do you breathe so low,

My Lady d'Arbanville why do you sleep so still?

I'll wake you tomorrow

and you will be my fill, yes, you will be my fill.

My Lady d'Arbanville, you look so cold tonight.

Your lips feel like winter,

your skin has turned to white, your skin has turned to white.

My Lady d'Arbanville, why do you sleep so still?

I'll wake you tomorrow

and you will be my fill, yes, you will be my fill.

La la la la la....

My Lady d'Arbanville why does it grieve me so?

But your heart seems so silent.

Why do you breathe so low, why do you breathe so low,

I loved you my lady, though in your grave you lie,

I'll always be with you

This rose will never die, this rose will never die.

I loved you my lady, though in your grave you lie,

I'll always be with you

This rose will never die, this rose will never die.

No Milk Today (1966)

Great music. I wish that we had that innocence today. This was without all of the drugs and drama that goes on today. I wish that we could enjoy music today that was as simple and full of love that was back then

There was a time when gay meant happy. What would you know. They were the happy times that will never be.

http://youtu.be/Reqc38YW81w

(Graham Gouldman)

No milk today, my love has gone away

The bottle stands forlorn, a symbol of the dawn

No milk today, it seems a common sight

But people passing by don't know the reason why

How could they know just what this message means

The end of my hopes, the end of all my dreams

How could they know the palace there had been

Behind the door where my love reigned as queen

No milk today, it wasn't always so

The company was gay, we'd turn night into day

But all that's left is a place dark and lonely

A terraced house in a mean street back of town

Becomes a shrine when I think of you only

Just two up two down

No milk today, it wasn't always so

The company was gay, we'd turn night into day

As music played the faster did we dance

We felt it both at once, the start of our romance

How could they know just what this message means

The end of my hopes, the end of all my dreams

How could they know a palace there had been

Behind the door where my love reigned as queen

No milk today, my love has gone away

The bottle stands forlorn, a symbol of the dawn

But all that's left is a place dark and lonely

A terraced house in a mean street back of town

Becomes a shrine when I think of you only

Just two up two down

No milk today, my love has gone away

The bottle stands forlorn, a symbol of the dawn

No milk today, it seems a common sight

But people passing by don't know the reason why

How could they know just what this message means

The end of my hopes, the end of all my dreams

How could they know a palace there had been

Behind the door where my love reigned as queen

No milk today, it wasn't always so

The company was gay, we'd turn night into day

But all that's left is a place dark and lonely

A terraced house in a mean street back of town

Oh all that's left is a place dark and lonely

A terraced house in a mean street back of town

Oh all that's left is a place dark and lonely

A terraced house in a mean street back of town

Simon and Garfunkel - The sound of silence

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hUy9ePyo6Q

Hello darkness, my old friend,

I've come to talk with you again,

Because a vision softly creeping in,

Left its seeds while I was sleeping,

And the vision that was planted in my brain

Still remains

Within the sound of silence.

In restless dreams I walked alone

Narrow streets of cobblestone,

'Neath the halo of a street lamp,

I turned my collar to the cold and damp

When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light

That split the night

And touched the sound of silence.

And in the naked light I saw

Ten thousand people, maybe more.

People talking without speaking,

People hearing without listening,

People writing songs that voices never share

And no one dared

Disturb the sound of silence.

"Fools" said I, "You do not know

Silence like a cancer grows.

Hear my words that I might teach you,

Take my arms that I might reach out you."

But my words like silent raindrops fell,

And echoed

In the wells of silence.

And the people bowed and prayed

To the neon god they made.

And the sign flashed out its warning,

In the words that it was forming.

And the sign said, the words of the prophets are written on the subway walls

And tenement halls.

And whisper'd in the sounds of silence."

Canned Heat - On The Road Again

"On The Road Again" at Beat Club, 14.09.1968.

In 1965, the blues- and boogie-rock band Canned Heat was formed in Los Angeles by guitar and harmonica player Alan "Blind Owl" Wilson and lead singer Bob "The Bear" Hite. They took the name for the band from an old delta blues song called Canned Heat Blues written by Tommy Johnson in 1928. The worldwide hit On The Road Again is best known for Wilsons unique high-pitched vocals and famous for its harmonica solo. Beside playing at all major festivals of the 60s Woodstock, Monterey Pop, Isle of Wight the band also travelled to Europe for concerts and TV appearances, e.g. the German Beat Club, where they performed the song in a lip-synched version. Tragically, on September 3, 1970 Alan Wilson died of a barbiturate overdose which led to numerous line-up changes in the following years. But the band still plays on today in the fifth decade of their existence.

Well, I'm so tired of crying, but i'm out

on the road again.

- I'm on the road again.

Well, I'm so tired of crying, but I'm out

on the road again.

- I'm on the road again.

I ain't got no woman

Just to call my special friend.

You know the first time I traveled out

in the rain and snow,

- In the rain and snow.

You know the first time I traveled out

in the rain and snow,

- In the rain and snow.

I didn't have no payroll,

Not even no place to go.

And my dear mother left me when

I was quite young,

- When I was quite young.

And my dear mother left me when

I was quite young,

- When I was quite young.

She said "Lord, have mercy

On my wicked son."

Take a hint from me, mama, please

don't you cry no more,

- Don't you cry no more.

Take a hint from me, mama, please

don't you cry no more,

- Don't you cry no more.

'Cause it's soon one morning

Down the road I'm going.

But I aint going down that

long old lonesome road

All by myself.

But I aint going down that

long old lonesome road

All by myself.

I can't carry you, Baby,

Gonna carry somebody else.

Get your motor runnin'

Head out on the highway

Lookin' for adventure

And whatever comes our way

Yeah Darlin' go make it happen

Take the world in a love embrace

Fire all of your guns at once

And explode into space

I like smoke and lightning

Heavy metal thunder

Racin' with the wind

And the feelin' that I'm under

Yeah Darlin' go make it happen

Take the world in a love embrace

Fire all of your guns at once

And explode into space

Like a true nature's child

We were born, born to be wild

We can climb so high

I never wanna die

Born to be wild

Guess Who - These Eyes

Let me tell you what this song meant when it was played on AM radio: Mothers held their children that much tighter, Lost loves were found, Marriages were reconciled, Runaways came home. From New York to Los Angeles, and Florida to Saskatchewan, millions of people quaked in their boots, when they heard those five haunting electric piano notes

She's come undun

She didn't know what she was headed for

And when I found what she was headed for

It was too late

She's come undun

She found a mountain that was far too high

And when she found out she couldn't fly

It was too late

It's too late

She's gone too far

She's lost the sun

She's come undun

She wanted truth but all she got was lies

Came the time to realize

And it was too late

Too many mountains, and not enough stairs to climb

Too many churches and not enough truth

Too many people and not enough eyes to see

Too many lives to lead and not enough time

Oh Monday morning, Monday morning couldn't guarantee

That Monday evening you would still be here with me.

Monday Monday, sometimes it just turns out that way

Oh Monday morning, you gave me no warning of what was to be

Oh Monday Monday, how yould cou leave and not take me.

Every other day, every other day,

Every other day of the week is fine, yeah

But whenever Monday comes, but whenever Monday comes

You can find me cryin' all of the time

Jefferson Airplane, Steppenwolf, The Mamas & The Papas и т.

The Marvelettes - Darling Forever (1961)

Darling forever, forever
You can break my heart
Forever if you want to
I'll play the part of a fool
Just to be with you... forever

Darling forever, forever
You can torment me
Take my love for granted
But I'll always be
Just a fool
If I, if I could be with you

I'll be your slave for the rest of my days
Love you more in so, so many ways
Just to be with you thrills me through and through

And darling forever, forever
You can torment me
Take my love for granted
But I`ll always be
Just a fool
If I, if I could be with you

Darling, forever, forever
No matter what you say or do
I'll always, I'll always love you

WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO MUSIC? 50's-60's WAS REAL!!! IT WAS ABOUT TRUE EMOTIONS AND EVEN WHEN IT WAS PUTTING A MAN OR A WOMAN DOWN, THEY WOULD PUT IT NICELY...

EXAMPLE: "GIRL, YOU LEFT ME FOR ANOTHER MAN, I'M HEART BROKEN" KIND OF STUFF;

BUT NOW IT'S MORE LIKE: "FUCK YOU BITCH, YOU A HOE, I FUCKED YOU NOW I WANNA FUCK YOUR FRIENDS" OR "YOU'RE A WORTHLESS MOTHER FUCKER" TYPE OF SHIT.

Lulu -

To Sir With Lovе

http://youtu.be/D46_5m328Bg

http://youtu.be/CbjMVpK_utU

Those schoolgirl days, of telling tales and biting nails are gone,

But in my mind,

I know they will still live on and on,

But how do you thank someone, who has taken you from crayons to perfume?

It isn't easy, but I'll try,

If you wanted the sky I would write across the sky in letters,

That would soar a thousand feet high,

To Sir, with Love

The time has come,

For closing books and long last looks must end,

And as I leave,

I know that I am leaving my best friend,

A friend who taught me right from wrong,

And weak from strong,

That's a lot to learn,

What, what can I give you in return?

If you wanted the moon I would try to make a start,

But I, would rather you let me give my heart,

To Sir, with Love

Lulu Kennedy-Cairns, OBE (born Marie McDonald McLaughlin Lawrie, 3 November 1948, Lennoxtown, Stirlingshire), best known by her stage name Lulu, is a Scottish singer-songwriter, actress, and television personality who has been successful in the entertainment business from the 1960s through to the present day. She is famous in the USA for the film theme "To Sir, with Love" and in the UK for her first hit "Shout" and her Eurovision Song Contest winning entry "Boom Bang-a-Bang" among others.

Lulu grew up in Dennistoun, Glasgow, where she attended Thomson Street Primary School and Onslow Drive Junior School. She lived in Gallowgate for a while before moving to Garfield Street. At the age of 12 or 13 she and her manager approached a band called the Bellrocks seeking stage experience as a singer. She appeared with them every Saturday night: Alex Thomson, the group's bass player, has reported that even then her voice was unbelievable.

In 1967 she made her debut film To Sir, with Love, a British vehicle for Sidney Poitier. She had a major hit with the title song reaching number one in the United States. In the UK, it was released on the B-side of "Let's Pretend", a # 11 hit, but "To Sir, with Love" sold over a million copies and was awarded a gold disc. In the meantime she continued her thriving pop career in the UK and had several television series of her own. After appearing on the BBC in 1967 in a successful TV series that featured music and comedy, Three Of A Kind, Lulu was given her own TV series in 1968, which ran annually until 1975 under various titles including Lulu's Back In Town, Happening For Lulu, Lulu and It's Lulu which featured Adrienne Posta. Her BBC series featured music and comedy sketches and star guests, one episode remains famous for Jimi Hendrix's unruly live appearance. From 30 June to 2 July 1967 she appeared with The Monkees at the Empire Pool, Wembley. Rumors of a romance with Davy Jones of The Monkees were rife but were probably mostly publicity.
